The Samsung Armani is a sleek, stylish and compact mobile phone that oozes designer elegance. The touch screen is very responsive, well laid out and easy to navigate; it also benefits greatly from only weighing 85g. Light enough that you’ll hardly feel it in your pocket but just heavy enough to remind you that it is there: always a good thing! It comes with a 3MP camera, bluetooth and a very good music player.

The Good

SMS & MMS, easy to to take picture and send
Internet Access
Fast data transfer

The Bad

Often slow when browsing pictures
Browser could be better. Often fails to load many webpages
Music player can also be quite unresponsive when changing songs

All in all the pro’s outweigh and con’s; the Armani is a designer phone and looks like one, even if it comes at the price of reduced functionality.

Acer X193W+BD Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Unbiased Owner Review

I recently (April, 2009) decided to upgrade my computer setup to dual-monitor and it is awesome..but that’s a different story. To complete my setup, I purchased this (refurbished) Acer X193W+BD Black 19″ 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor from TigerDirect. Was only $84.97 and $1.99 shipping…sweet deal. The monitor is fantastic for the price. It’s quite sharp and you can modify all of the properties (color balance, contrast, brightness) to get it to your ideal look. As usual, here goes the good and the bad.

THE GOOD

Sharp design – cool looking stand, bright blue LED, black, etc.
Rediculously low price.
Good resolution (1440 x 900 pixels)
Nice color quality

THE BAD

No DVI port..was a little suprised actually.
Stand rotates up and down, but two hands are required to rotate up (no biggie).
On button is a little hard to find in the dark, but you get used to it.

Another good buy for the price.

Creative I-Trigue 3330 29 watts 2.1 Speakers Unbiased Owner Review

I got the Creative I-Trigue 3330 Speakers three to four years ago and they’ve been my best friend ever since. These fill every need you should ever have for computer speakers. Lets be honest, if you’re throwing a 5-kegger with 200 people yelling to each other in your house, you’ll need to rig up something a little more fancy. But if you want something hooked up to your PC for your living room or bedroom, these hit every point on my check list. Honestly, when I changed from my crappy speakers to these, I actually appreciated music more.

THE GOOD

Great, clear sound
The attachment for volume control is awesome – volume knob, bass knob, headphone jack and audio-in jack
Heavy bass (if you want it to be)
Well designed and has lasted me with zero problems since 2005

THE BAD

Spent two minutes trying to think of one…can’t.

Thats it…I recommend this product to anyone who wants to upgrade to real sound.

Panasonic RP-HC500 Headphones Unbiased Owner Review

One might assume the Panasonic RP-HC500 headphones to be lame since they’re not Bose but if one were to assume that, one might be terribly, terribly wrong. Not much to say about these headphones except “awesome”. Comfortable, sturdy, slick, and a lower-cost than their Bose equivalent.

THE GOOD

Slick design
Great bass
Removable 3.5mm wire jack; makes for good non-music use without a pesky wire hanging off.
Comfortable

THE BAD

Battery powered, means changing the AAA battery a few times a month (if you use them regularly). Just remember to turn them off, not a big deal.
Though cheaper than Bose, still a tiny bit pricey.

Fujitsu T5010 Tablet PC Unbiased Owner Review

I was recently lucky enough to get a brand-spankin-new Fujitsu T5010 Tablet PC. Here are the specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26GHz
Microsoft Windows Vista Business (32-bit)
4GB DDR3 RAM
13.3″ Screen with Active Digitizer
80GB Hard Drive
DVD Burner
1.3 Pixel Webcam
Etc

This is a replacement PC for the Gateway M285 that I got in 2006. I won’t go into details but I had a pretty terrible all around experience with the M285, especially towards the end of its life. Let me just say, the T5010 is nothing short of spectacular (so far).

THE GOOD

Strong, metal hinge (Gateway M285’s hinge completely gave out after not a lot of time, leaving a floppy screen)
Screen rotation goes both ways (thats what she said).
Active digitizer; senses the pen when it isnt touching the screen and recognizes right clicking and eraser end of the pen.
Great design; looks very slick
Heat-sensitive scroller for when in tablet mode
USB ports are spread out
VERY bright screen

THE BAD

Terrible speakers
Windows Vista Business (not it’s fault)
When you switch into tablet mode you must manually rotate the computer to see the screen in the correct orientation
Battery life is mediocre…but still decent
Controls on the screen are right where your hand seems to want to rest when in tablet mode…makes for some interesting button pushes.

Overall a sweet buy and highly recommended. But make sure you have lots of RAM.
